"Dictators are allergic to reform, and they are cunning survivors. They will do whatever it takes to preserve their power and wealth, no matter how much blood ends up on their hands. They are master deceivers and talented manipulators who cannot be trusted to change."
George Ayittey Economist 1945
THE NARCISISTIC LEADER
The dictator stood with fierce resolve
After the people had spoken
He knew he was watching his empire dissolve
Once a dollar but now a token
So be it if his agenda will melt
Into history as it has failed
He'd rather be soundly hated
Than be someone whose ship has sailed
He will draw his sword and raise it high
With one final act of defiance
Now the people dare to question why
Was he absorbed with selfish triumph
He won't ride into the sunset
He won't wave a little white flag
He just wants to be forever remembered
Be it good or be it bad
