The quote is from DEMOSTHENES, a Greek Statesman and Orator. (384 BC-322 BC)
"There are all kinds of devices invented for the protection and preservation of countries: defensive barriers, forts, trenches and the like...But prudent minds have as a natural gift one safeguard which is the common possession of all, and this applies especially to the dealings of democracies. What is this safeguard? SCEPTICISM. This you must preserve. This you must retain. If you can keep this you need fear no harm."
Skepticism
The castle only continues to stand
Because of a deep and deadly moat
Deadly intruders shall forever be damned
By swimming creatures they may provoke
A moat is not an option in modern times
But we have will for our protection
Skepticism will stave off political crimes
Thrown in our direction
We must not fall for promises
In a slogan of hope and change
We should search to find the blemishes
Before our lives are rearranged
Our ears must filter lies that are told
Our eyes must watch for slight of hand
Our voices will be ready to question bold
And our minds and hearts be ready to take a stand
