EXPERIENCE

School seems to me an early temporary fix

Numbers, language, and a smidgen of history

But experience provides us what really sticks

And sheds a light on what's in store for me

In school I was taught and given a test

A lot was short term influence on my memory

Applause or disappointment had done the rest

The facts of life my refinery

I learned from life and know it well

I grew strong experiencing pitfalls and success

And so far in my growth, time will tell

If I merely existed or lived my life for its best
