Thank God for our lives and free will

Thank soldiers who had to be taught to kill

Help the veterans who come home with minds so ill

Curse the enemy that haunts them still

Thank God for the strength they needed to survive

Bless the soldiers and keep the troops hope alive

Help them heal at home when broken they arrive

Curse the enemy and cut them down to size

Thank God for blessings we all must share

When the troops come home from over there

Help them through the burdens they bear

Stand by them and prove we care
