THE POET IN ME
I have a mirror in my life that shows my reflection
My words are the self portrait I paint
My awareness is intense as I grasp for a sentence
That portrays me as a failure or a saint
My mind wraps around the letters that form
The words I construe to be
The story of my will, wants, needs, and beliefs
I am grateful for the poet in me
