COMPROMISE

Hold fast to our founding principles

With the greatest of resolve

Go forth with valid changes

So our country can evolve

But make the changes go hand in hand

With what our founders had in mind

We can't argue with our past

And leave the best of it behind

Let not charismatic orators

Convince you of drastic change

For to base our future on  someone's dreams

Is for our heritage to estrange

Speak to the past in terms of respect

For all the good it holds

Agree with the past for compromise

With relevant changes in the fold
