JONATHAN SWIFT
"Laws are like cobwebs, which may catch small flies, but let wasps and hornets break through."
WHO GETS CAUGHT
Lawmakers attempt to cast a net
But who are the fish they tend to get?
Tiny people of no consequence remained
In the net they are detained
The big and powerful go bursting through
Or grease a palm, that's what they do
Sleazy crooks can slip away
Cunning lawyers will have their say
Who is caught, does it matter not?
The innocent, there are a lot
Why some get through, who knows?
Beating the system is how it goes
