Her Independence

HER INDEPENDENCE

How desperate she was in her well chosen dress

Only fifteen, her life is a mess

Showing her thighs and her pink perky breasts

She would ask for thirty but knew she'd take less

Drawn by the mystery freedom could bring

How dare they say no about a nose piercing ring

Her parents had forbidden just too many things

All the others she knew were adorned with such bling

One night in the dark she would tiptoe away

She was almost grown, so what could they say

She hitchhiked to a city so far away

And was turned out by a pimp the very next day

So the nose ring glitters in the overhead streetlight

Second hand stilettos added inches to her height

She's going to feel old and tired after a long busy night

It crosses her mind , yeah, her parents were right

Another young girl asleep on a table

Some tried to rescue her, no one was able

The last appointment she made had proved to be fatal

Just fifteen years ago she was safe in her cradle
