You Get What You Give

"Shall I tell you what the real evil is? To cringe to the things that are called evils, to surrender to them our freedom, in defiance of which we ought to face and suffering." Lucius Annaeus Seneca

YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE

When sounds in the dark have you cowering

And perception of bad news brings you fear

When no amount of reassurance is empowering

And you are skeptical of all that you hear

When tomorrow's are looked upon with dread

And hugs become so superficial

When you'd rather be home in your bed

Life just seems so artificial

By all means you should stop and surrender

Be another in a long line who fail

Go about life a pretender

Throw in the towel and just bail

Don't forget there is power that you harbor

You only get what you are willing to give

No one has respect for a martyr

In fear is a sad place to live
