The Lost Soul

"While death consumes us" immediately makes me think of Donnie.

THE LOST SOUL

He lost out on too many today's

Missed out on friends along the way

In his life the past was self-imposed

He walked his path with yesterday's ghosts

Dreams were replaced with nightmares

He saw scorn in people's stares

The heartbreak he could not avoid

He lived his life as paranoid

Escape was there had he reached out

But his preference was a life of doubt

A bottle was his only friend

He paid his dues with shots of gin

They saw him and immediately turned away

He'd driven them off to their
dismay

It's hard for loved ones to intervene

In a life that's lived in Halloween

It's All About Today

Do not fear death so much but rather the inadequate life." Betroit Brecht

IT'S ALL ABOUT TODAY

Such a shame it would be

To alter life in fear of death

One will lose a piece of longevity

When he questions every breath

Turned loose, we were, to dignify

Our own existence here on earth

Given a chance to signify

Just what we thought our worth

Fear should never be of the end

As we concentrate on our present task

Today is what counts not where we've been

Or what we can forecast

It's Just What Will Come

Mark Twain said that "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time."

IT'S JUST WHAT WILL COME

It has been a busy life

Good times, bad times

Exceptional days and strife

But mostly just everyday times

There have been days so devastating

That death would have been preferred

I hated just participating

In some crap that had occurred

But mostly I put my trust in God

I feared death as just unknown

Dwelling on it would be quite odd

But I wondered where I was going

Life itself was more the question

As I had to face it on my own

The certainty of death in my impression

Is always etched in stone

There is no changes I could make

To prevent death when it shall come

I'll glean from life what I can take

As I just keep moving on

Changing Change

"The framers of the constitution knew that free speech is the friend of change and revolution. But they also knew that it was the deadliest enemy of tyranny." Hugo Black

CHANGING CHANGE

Truth, justice, and freedom of speech

The tantamount goal in which we reach

It's the logical solution

The key to revolution

It's the history lessons we are called upon to teach

The facts that prove the lawmakers wrong

The patriotism that will rise in song

Where the swords are that of truth

And the lies are slain with proof

Evidence in hand we all respond

When laws and regulations empower

Big government  to reign as the people cower

It's our catalyst to call their bluff

The polls can't open soon enough

The unity within our republic is our power

Our Revolution

Victor Hugo said "When dictatorship is a fact, revolution becomes a right."

OUR REVOLUTION

These modern days and times

When we call for revolution

It won't be the wrath of early days

When bearing arms was the solution

It is now we call on Americans

To think with hearts and head

To recognize the truth from lies

Asking for sensibility instead

Today our revolution

Is to stop now and take pause

And realize the changes forthcoming

Are from unfair, stifling laws

We must convince the people that the handouts

Are merely bribes and pacifiers

And the progressives that are coddling us

Are really thrives and liars

Let the revolution come

For the sake of future generations

And may our ammunition be

Votes to stop this trsnsformation

Failed Document

"BUT if the constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain...that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, OR HAS BEEN POWERLESS TO PREVENT IT. In either case, it is unfit to exist." Lysander Spooner

FAILED DOCUMENT

If the honor of America

Will fall as it has risen

If the people within the country

Become victims of division

If big government corruption

Throws us all into the Abyss

Has the constitution failed us?

Should it continue to exist?

THE TIGER

Confuscius says "An oppressive government is more to be feared than a tiger."

THE TIGER

Crouching silently in wait

It's beauty and dignity belie its ferocity

With claws so sharp and teeth so deadly

The oppressive government destroys our liberty

SHOOT THE MESSENGER

"It is a paradox that every dictator has climbed to power on the ladder of free speech. Immediately on attaining power each dictator has suppressed all free speech except his own." Herbert Hoover

SHOOT THE MESSENGER

Let them spew their dialogue

Let them try to warn the masses

Let them try to prove me wrong

May they all look like asses

Let me control the media

Let them be in awe of me

Let my detractors look paranoid

Even though I contort reality

Let my power grow boundlessly

As free speech gets old and tired

Soon I will be in control of thee

And let free speech be now expired

Quote on memories

Words not so grand to fill a best selling novel become important memories in the mind of a child. The time spent with an aging soul is worth it's weight in gold.

Marian Beatty

Passing Along the Past

"Keep all special thoughts and memories for lifetimes to come. Share these keepsakes with others to inspire hope and build from the past which can bridge the future." Mattie Stepanek

PASSING ALONG THE PAST

Stories before the fireplace told

By relatives who are growing old

Belie the value of trinkets shared

Heartfelt memories can't be compared

Tales of adventures that fishermen tell

Worth any antique that one can sell

The little boy who grips the pole

Awed by the memories from the old man's soul

The grizzled veterans with tales of war

Old farmers with standards youth searches for

The memories remain in a child's mind

Important facts never left behind

Moving On

"The happiest memories are of moments that ended when they should have." Robert Brault

MOVING ON

So one thing that I have learned in this lifetime

Is not to hold the best times like a lifeline

Sour evolves from the best of taste

It's too easy for euphoria to go to waste

Don't love so strong to smother those

Who are meant to share your highs and lows

Let memories take hold of time well spent

And embrace fresh goodness from Heaven sent

Mail Call

MAIL CALL

There they stand in conversation

Outside a makeshift mess hall

It's been a particularly trying week

And they look forward to the mail call

Back at home the spirits are high

Christmas is soon to come

They are caught up in the season

But here the gunfire welcomes each dawn

As names are called snd envelopes are passed

They grow silent so they can listen

The anticipation meets devastation

Teary eyes begin to glisten

It is easier to face the enemy

Than consecutive weeks with no word from home

Among his many comrades

He is feeling so alone

Has his sister made the cheering squad?

Is his brother still playing ball?

Is dad recovering from his heart attack?

Do they think of me at all?

Disappointment boils to the surface again

Sadly a few must walk away

With no connection from home in hand

And a sadness that will last all day

Stay Cool

"Our message should be disseminated with honest and confident authority or risk being determined the rant of unbalanced loons." Marian Beatty

STAY COOL

From time to time we will realize

We have our rights to excersize

To be deemed for credibility

We must use restraint snd dignity

If we want to show we're well in  tune

We need not act like angry loons

Be cool and confident in what you say

To impress the others to go your way

Credibility

"Live your message: Practice what you preach. That's where credibility comes from." John C Maxwell

CREDIBILITY

If your message is from your heart

And runs deep to the core of your soul

If you walk the walk and talk the talk

By all means make it your goal

If your message is that of outside sources

And of pure ideology

Know that you will be
questioned

And it reflects your credibility

TRUTH FEARS NO QUESTIONS

Obama's dishonesty will come to bite him in the end...

TRUTH FEARS NO QUESTIONS

Standing on his podium

His furrowed brow tells the tale

His concern is so superficial

The questions are asked, his answers fail

Let me be clear he tends to say

But clear as mud is what's to be

Talking points go round and round

Inconsistent rhetoric runs rampantly

Our president is determined to deny us

Open and honest accountability

From one scandal to another crisis

He has compromised his integrity

The only thing a leader needs to portray

Is an open and honest clear reflection

Dishonesty will do him in

Truth fears no questions

By the Wayside

"Where is the dignity unless there is honesty?" Cicero

BY THE WAYSIDE

Where has it gone, the pride?

What does our government have to hide?

They live under a cloak of conspiracy, cover-ups, no accountability.

Where has it gone, the honor?

The face of truth we garner?

Lies have become their calling card, their billboard, and with disregard

Where has it gone, the patriotism?

The tears we shed when the flag has risen?

Gone for fear of retribution, for standing on The Constitution

Where will we be ten years from now?

Self sufficient or don't know how?

Victims of a welfare state, divided with a sense of hate

Where has it gone, the dignity

Head held high, integrity

It has gone by way of Obama's plan, from once industrious to a broken man

Implementation of a socialistic agenda

Since health care is vital to everyone, it is the most powerful tool the government has to control the most people.

Poor people are afraid they will not survive this economy on their own. So they embrace the free stuff mentality.  Unfortunately for the worker bees of the country, it is on our backs the burden is strapped to subsidise these people.

The economy is ripe for socialism to get its foot in the door. With mass unemployment the most employable people are forced into the lower paying jobs once held by willing lower class workers. So not only are there deadbeats claiming welfare, subsidised housing, and food stamps...the once productive displaced working class is forced to take the handouts. As jobs are not forthcoming they fear losing it all and become a part of the far left voter base.

Add bleeding hearts who insist on saving the environment, funding and educating illegal aliens, and the increase in class warfare based on creed, color, and nationality, we end up with a country divided and a legislative stone wall. That delights the Obama administration who is more than happy to use executive privilege to enact laws to fit their agenda.

Is There Hope?

"When a government takes over a peoples economic life it becomes absolute, and when it has become absolute it DESTROYS the arts, the minds, the liberties, and the meaning of the people it governs." Maxwell Anderson (1888-1959) Max was an American playwrite, poet, author, and journalist

IS THERE HOPE?

They have half of Americans on wefare and free housing

The votes are in their pockets

New laws and regulations keep the rest from arousing

They have slammed the cell door and have locked it

The strongest of chains is about to be used

As they're on the verge of controlling our health care

The power is theirs and will be abused

Apathy and ignorance led us there

Will we wake in the morning to a new world order?

Is liberty fading into the sunset?

Will we become prisoners within our own borders?

Is there any hope for US yet?

Reality Sets In

REALITY SETS IN

As We the People fall deeper in despair

Half of us don't even realize we are there

He laughs as he slams the proverbial cell door

Take that, you patriots, no liberty no more

Half saw it coming and called an alarm

They want to control us and cause us more harm

Patriots warned them and warned them again and again

But alas it's too late as reality sets in

Open letter to progressives

It's so easy for me to get carried away with you progressives...you know of course that they have total gun control and universal health care in Cuba so tell my why Cubans risk their lives to come here? Tell me exactly how are you going to pay for all this free shit after you've bankrupted the country...and how will you support a military to protect from outside aggression? I think you like the idea of power over the people and the reality is that in the end you will have power only over the zombies who submit to your tyranny and your days will be lived in fear knowing that the true patriots don't roll over so easily and we're coming to get you! JTD

Tyranny

"Now those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth, and let me remind you they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyranny." Barry Goldwater

TYRANNY

Seeking absolute power

In their own mind a righteous move

But in life under tyranny

It is the citizens who lose

The tyrants see their version

Of goodness oh so true

But in bondage we the citizens

Will find ourselves in lieu

Tyrants believe that their control

Is care that they are giving

They don't feel the chains

In which the ordinary are living

The "rewards" they rain on citizens

Under socialistic laws

Are just tidbits of their bounty

Beneath their hellish, selfish cause

Is All Lost?

IS ALL LOST

Has corruption in the barrel

Rotted all the fruit?

Is our faith so badly shaken

By congressmen in suits?

Has leadership been questioned

Far too often, way too much?

Does it seem our President

Is always out to lunch?

Are opinions from the courts

Especially the Supreme

Beginning to go against

What our Constitution means?

Is justice at federal level

Biased and offensive?

Putting ordinary citizens

Always on defensive?

Has our core morality

Fallen to an all time low?

Is killing viable fetuses

Really the way to go?

Has our institutions

Of education become too biased

To socialistic tendencies?

Does authority often try us?

Have the regulations and the mandates

All but stifled our every move?

Have we reached the bottom yet

With nothing else to lose?

Enough is Enough

Frederick Bastiat "It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: The conversion of law into an instrument of plunder."

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

We accept the laws that protect us from harm

We will eagerly compromise

Don't stifle us with mandates with your evil charm

We the People won't tolerate your lies!

We will not be forced to submission

And surrender all of our guns

We stand by The Constitution

And totalitarianism we shun

We will gladly work to make our way

And drive the economy

But forget it if you intend to say

Taxation is only for me

I expect my fellow Americans

To contribute when they are able

Just like I do what I can

To put food upon my table

If there comes a day you use the law

To control us and to plunder

We the People will again stand tall

And tear your regime asunder

Stolen Memories

STOLEN MEMORIES

Can it be my memories were just wishful thinking?

Dreams of a little girl whose heart was breaking

So much wanting to be a part of the happier things

Children on slides, merry-go-rounds, and swings

Telling tall tales of things I thought true

Could it be my life was really what happened to you?

Thinking my memories were actually my own

Cherishing them all since this time that I've grown

Are We Questioning Our Liberty?

"If you think we are free today, you know nothing about tyranny and even less about freedom." Tom Braun

ARE WE QUESTIONING OUR LIBERTY?

Oh say can you see

What it is meant to be free?

Limited regulations and laws

Reps who work for our cause

Leaders who actually lead

In a land of no greed

Where work is rewarded

And welfare states thwarted

Enterprise is not disregarded

And hope not discarded

Where charity is from the heart

All equally do their part

A country not divided

Where our intentions are decided

By all means we share humility

In a quest for civility

We need not be mandated

And government's not hated

Oh say will we see

Our future life free?

I Am Your Choice

"...But to manipulate men, to propel them toward goals which you, the social reformer see, but they may not, is to deny their human essence, to treat them as objects, without wills of their own, and therefore to degrade them." Isaiah Berlin

I AM YOUR CHOICE

I have organized my following

Manipulated my base

I have changed the values of America

As I slapped her on her face

I have called good people bigots

If they dare to disagree

I tell everyone around the world

I apologize to thee

I bribe those who have no purpose

With free housing, food, and money

And have convinced them I will care for them

In this land of milk and honey

I've used executive privileges

To enact an impossible law

To provide the country with health care

And manipulate them all

My minions are all just like me

With Socialism flowing through their veins

If anyone should cross me

I conjure up the pain

I've used the perks of office

Providing pleasure for my own desire

I have turned my back on Americans

As they died pleading from the fire

I have embraced the country's enemies

And decried terroristic threat

And people continue to honor me

Have they figured me out yet?

Yes I am your leader

Though I have only led the drama

In this real life horror movie

I am in fact the great Obama!

You Get What You Give

"Shall I tell you what the real evil is? To cringe to the things that are called evils, to surrender to them our freedom, in defiance of which we ought to face and suffering." Lucius Annaeus Seneca

YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE

When sounds in the dark have you cowering

And perception of bad news brings you fear

When no amount of reassurance is empowering

And you are skeptical of all that you hear

When tomorrow's are looked upon with dread

And hugs become so superficial

When you'd rather be home in your bed

Life just seems so artificial

By all means you should stop and surrender

Be another in a long line who fail

Go about life a pretender

Throw in the towel and just bail

Don't forget there is power that you harbor

You only get what you are willing to give

No one has respect for a martyr

In fear is a sad place to live

Be Equal to Your Aspirations

" No man is great enough or wise enough for any of us to surrender our destiny to. The only way in which anyone can lead us is to restore to us the belief in our own guidance."

BE EQUAL TO YOUR ASPIRATIONS

Look up thee to the parents

Those who teach their children well

Cast ye out the demons

Back to the gates of hell

Look only to the peers

For advice if they are able

Look only unto yourself

For the food upon your table

Don't elevate your leaders

Beyond what you believe

Don't limit what you dream

Or what your hopes are to achieve

Don't take to heart the voices

Just because they make a sound

Look to yourself for choices

In your reflection don't look down

Don't be satisfied with mediocrity

And sweep potential out the door

Be equal to your aspirations

Never sit when you can explore

Unfortunate Changes

Now about that quote...

"Economic power is exercised by means of a positive, by offering men a reward, an incentive, a payment, a value; Political power exercised by means of a negative, by the threat of punishment, injury, imprisonment, destruction. The business tool is value; bureaucrats tool is fear." Ayn Rand (1905-1982)

UNFORTUNATE CHANGES

It's not all that it seems

This land of dreams

Our old ways have gone downstream

And may never be seen again

Once incentive driven

So much welfare given

Disability becomes a living

And that's just a sin

Government doesn't  hesitate

To punish and mandate

They direct and regulate

And spend and spend and spend

I believe it's our prerogative

To expect something positive

Instead of always punitive

In this socialistic trend

The Daily Snoop

The Daily Snoop from the heart and minds of Americans concerned for their future.

Losing Hope

Will Rogers....

"If America ever passes out as a great nation, we ought to put on our tombstone: America died from the delusion that she had moral leadership."

Here she lies but not in peace

We have let our republic down

Liberty once hailed soon will cease

In debt we're about to drown

Here she lies in literal pieces

A progressive trend will do her in

Promises in campaign speeches

Belie the faces growing thin

Weary patriots in vain beseech thee

Please, stand, demand your rights

Our final lifeline to liberty

Disappearing from our sights

When christened as the land of the free

It didn't refer to a ride

In welfare we've lost our dignity

Gone a sense of pride

Our final hope is that more will see

The truth has now been lost

It's suicide to let it be

And freedom is the cost

Anger

"Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they are angry, they bring about change." James Russell Lowell

ANGER

Deep blue skies and calming seas

A smile heard in rustling trees

An attitude in all of these

Calm and happy as you please

Raindrops on your window pane

Sadness today so firmly ingrained

Nowhere to go on days of rain

Productivity goes down the drain

Thunderstorms behind angry skies

Anger looms behind the lies

At least in anger the people rise

Unlike the calm when no one tries

Outrage come to rearrange

When politics and serenity become estranged

Stirred up people deny the change

Spurring all to turn the page

THE COST OF LIVING

"The price of living is the amount of life you exchange for it." Thoreau

THE COST OF LIVING

What can I give for this miracle of life?

It should be something worthy, I suppose

Perhaps honesty would be an adequate exchange

Does it seem enough, who knows?

Charity, sincerity, humility

Being thankful and forgiving

Any offering I can proclaim

For this blessing known as living

The Victims

"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself." Harvey Fierstein

THE VICTIMS

Too many years wasted as a wallflower

Thinking I was insignificant

It is so important when you are young

To be a popular participant

A victim, was I of low self esteem

Made to think I was ugly and fat

That is what makes bullies feel better

Making others an easy target

Rebellion was mine back in those days

Frustration was what I often tasted

Being at the bottom made no sense

I am ashamed of the years I had wasted

I AM someone with a soul and a mind

I HAVE feelings and they can be shattered

To build their importance was their reason for my pain

To the bullies none of it mattered

I am the girl with embarrassing freckles

I am the boy with wild red hair

I am the child who eats lunch by myself

And I see not a one of you cares

Sacrifice

He was the boy at the bus stop with the Spiderman back pack

The one who in junior high excelled and ran track

She was the girl at your daughter's sleepover

Who wore the cute pajamas with horseshoes and clover

He was the boy who sat the bench during football games

You've seen his face, but don't remember his name

She was the girl who always wanted to make the grade

But C's were the best that she ever made

He was the boy who was the first to enlist

Knowing it was wartime and he'd be at risk

The girl needed a boost to help her to college

She figured the Army would earn her that knowledge

The hometown boy had reason to brag

But he was a hero who came home draped with a flag

The girl once friends with your daughter last year

Fought and died bravely showing no fear

And so it is played out again and again

Children you know meet an untimely end

Their hopeful faces smiling in the yearbook you see

Were the sons and the daughters of people like me

Best description of Obama ever

The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract, empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is 'African-American,' the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.

Taken from a writing of Dr. Jack Wheeler.

The Ultimate Betrayal

"There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills."

THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL

Each awakening day meant to be cheerful

With hope draped over our souls

Searching the horizon for that shining star

Reaching for the source for which our dreams hold

Our trust for a future bright

Has been replaced by ever growing doubt

Placed there in increments through the night

Burying us deep in desperation with no way out

Patriots trudging ahead but losing hope

That enough changes can be brought to bear

Frustration of the betrayal, we can no longer cope

And the New World Order is looming there

Incentive Lost

Incentive is dying. The last of the hopeful dreamers have grown old. They are the ones who can get by on what they earned and socked away.

The last of the hopeful middle class have found themselves less comfortable than what they prepared themselves for. Most have prepared enough to have their home paid for and a tidy pension.

Coming of age are the children of the former who have had their college paid for and are searching for work. Along with them are the children of the blue collar class who have worked their own way through school and are mired in jobs just beyond minimum wage. They are afraid to advance for fear of loosing their meager benefits, so they stay until the job kills them or life itself does them in.

Then you have the lowest of middle class who struggle, work multiple jobs, both husband and wife working while the kids are home alone trying to figure things out.

And all the above are giving up a growing part of everything they earn to subsidize alcoholics, drug addicted felons, child- producing single parents, and third generation bums who just prefer a free ride.

And who gets to vote in their representatives? The liberal do gooders and their flock of takers.

Living a LIE

LIVING A LIE

Lies cover our flaws

Flower our cause

Fertilize our laws

Leak from our jaws

They build our esteem

To artificial extreme

Change how we seem

Skew what we mean

They feed our desires

Impossibly inspire

Are hard to retire

When truth we require

THE LONELY TRUTH

"Truth is not only violated by falsehood; it may be equally outraged by silence." Henri Amiel

THE LONELY TRUTH

It is out there in all its glory

For anyone to know

How lonely an existence

Waiting for its time to come

Truth so often is ignored

As the false seems so inviting

To cover indiscretions

And hide intentional corruption

Why is it so easy to lie?

Because our silence shows acceptance

Too often we are blind

When truth begs to be acknowledged

Justice and Power

"Justice and power must be brought together, so that whatever is just may be powerful, and whatever is powerful may be just." Blaise Pascal

The problem with power is that it claims little pieces of justice. Someday we will all live in an unjust society where the powerful control our every move. No longer will we be seeking happiness of our own accord, we will be mandated to provide for the happiness of our leaders.

The Slick Liar

THE SLICK LIAR

Standing there in smart attire

Arrogant and breathing fire

His words as empty as his soul

His lies play people for a fool

Listening to his rhetoric

Are desperate people, eyes affixed

The handsome oracle smooth and slick

Throw out his lies and make them stick

Standing there in smart attire

Good suits cannot disguise this liar

But there is damage to be undone

Woven webs to be unstrung

LIVING THE LIE

"Lying is both a failure of understanding and an unwillingness to be understood." Maria Popova

LIVING THE LIE

His opinion was his priority

Yet he failed to understand

He was mired in the minority

And of truth had no command

So he coats his views with falsehood

And spreads his mind with delusion

Liars are his brotherhood

And his world is an illusion

AGONIZINGLY YOURS

"The search is what anyone would undertake if he were not sunk in the everydayness of his own life. To become aware of the possibility of the search is to be ON TO SOMETHING. Not to be on to something is to be in despair". Walker Percy

I have found these past few years productive. Since Obama has become president and began to show his true colors, metaphorically speaking of course, I have found myself in a battle to educate myself in so many areas it is mind boggling.

At sixty one I have learned more in the areas of government, economics, politics, ethics, the constitution, and human behavior in the past five years than any formal education I was afforded. I admit, I am only a high school graduate, but I think I have earned a degree in common sense.

I have discovered about myself that I love my country and am willing to do what it takes to get it back on track. Since I am only one person, I realize it will take millions of us in like mind to get it done.

Being on this mission is time consuming, often thankless, and heartbreaking. It sickens, saddens, and demoralizes me on a daily basis. There have been very few victories considering the passion I see out there to save this country.

I feel I need to stop to save my sanity, but I know tomorrow will expose more of the destruction perpetuated by the Obama administration, so I will recharge, reload, and recommit.

God Bless all of you who selfishly accept the agony of continuing to fight for liberty.

QUIET NOT THE PATRIOTS

"Search for the truth is the noblest occupation of man; its publication a duty." Madame Stael

QUIET NOT THE PATRIOTS

They call us rabble rousers

And say we are disruptive

We are far from being cowards

When we find the truth destructive

Is it best we spend our time

Trying to expose oppressive laws?

I see the duty mine

To inform thee of their flaws

We are citizens with a passion

With a cause to generate

Freedom of expression

Before it is too late

Label us what you will

But I will not lose my voice

Until my heart is still

Or until I can rejoice

WON'T YOU JUST TRY?

Here is a quote from George F. Will who happens to be a new contributor to Fox..."Americans, endowed by their solicitous government with an ever expanding array of entitlements, now have the whiney mentality that an entitlement culture breeds."

WON'T YOU JUST TRY?

Cry baby cry

But don't lift a hand

Hold it out

For the stuff you demand

Whine baby whine

If you must pay a fee

It's what you expect

From people like me

Complain you need more

Won't you even TRY

You've taken it all

The well has run dry

WHEN THE WELL RUNS DRY

There comes a time when even the industrious citizen gives in and decides to start living at the expense of others.

Edmund Burke studied this and concluded "And having looked at the government for bread, on the very first scarcity they will turn and bite the hand that fed them."

WHEN THE WELL RUNS DRY

They gave up on dreams in grand scale

Compromised for high middle class

Realized when they were ready to fail

The world was kicking his ass

They gave up on dreams way to soon

When the government made failing so easy

Why should one shoot for the moon

When he is paid to be unindustrious and lazy?

The people have come to rely

On free housing and food on the table

They find that it's easy to get by

Though for work they are adequately able

Now their dreams they remember no more

And the government fails to provide

As they sit idly outside their front door

It becomes obvious the government lied

Now with economy flipped and downscaled

There is no way government  can care of the takers

Because now that the government failed

There's nothing left for the non-money-makers.

Now they will see how it goes

When government can't be your savior

All doors will continue to close

For those with unproductive behavior

MY HAPPY PLACE

."Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment." Grenville Kleiser

MY HAPPY PLACE

I have a place to go, you know

To escape the daily grind

It is not miles I go to grow

It is just a state of mind

The state of humor serves me well

It always gets me by

And as far as I can tell

Your laughter makes me fly

I have visited negativity

Such a horrid place

I go often to positivity

Now that, I can embrace

Humor is the place to go

With people for whom I care

The rivers made of laughter flow

And that, I love to share

EDUCATIONAL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP

THE FOLLOWING QUOTE PERTAINING TO LEADERSHIP LED TO SOME VERY INTERESTING DEBATE. PLESSE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT.

"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." John C. Maxwell.

Yes we have a so called leader who finds fault not remedy. He doesn't inspire people to do more or become more. For him it's all about making speeches and his status on the likeability scale and never about results. Leadership begins with taking responsibility and not casting blame. His general attitude is a mirror of his twisted narcissistic mind and why people can't readily see it is beyond me. I sincerely believe that he is a borderline psychotic so caught up in ideology and egomania that he is incapable of leading this nation. This in addition to being a pathological liar leaves us as a nation in great peril. JTD

The quote you have given us today no way describes who Obama is but your comments nailed him perfectly. You are exactly right and this is what the American people elected TWICE so that points much to where the problem lies IMO! We, and so many others, could see him for what he isn't but not the majority of voters who unfortunately many are minorities. I see in California yesterday they passed a law that gives immigrants (not citizens) a right to get a drivers license. Next they will be granted voting privileges and of course covered in Healthcare......then they will vote. Sounds far fetched but it's likely. If so, we are stuck with liberals...socialist...for a long time! SRK

I heard about the licenses in California...that whole state is a lost cause and more are to follow. The whole country is full of people who want free shit and an easy ride but worst of all we have politicians in high places who use these people to stay in power and to grab even more power! JTD

"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." John C. Maxwell

Does Obama know the way? He knows HIS way and is blatantly opposed to anyone else's way. He is narcissistic to the point of blindly following his agenda with no compromise, no research, and no regard to the wishes of others. This is what makes dictators. And dictators are very formidable leaders when people are in a stagnant state of mind.

Does Obama go the way? Absolutely, he goes his way on his limited access highway to reforming America into a dependant society oppressed by big government. He is a leader in that regard. He is the Pied Piper who will lead us off a cliff and into a cesspool of mediocrity.

Does Obama show the way? I'd have to say yes. He has shown all those who have no knowledge or will to obtain it the door to his ideology.

Yes, Obama is a leader, a most terrifying leader.

SRK,  I believe you are wrong. But in a typical way, very right. I am thinking out of the box and not assuming that all leaders are headed north. Some are headed due south into their own territory. A territory where he will control his followers. If people readily follow, then Obama is a leader.

I came upon an epiphany with this quote...I realized everyone on our side says he is NOT a leader. Unfortunately, he is a good leader, a deceptive leader, a dangerous leader. We need not be followers. That lS what gets us in trouble.

We don't need a leader. We need a guide who upholds the rules and shows the way within those rules, our Constitution. Someone who facilitates, delegates authority, and serves at our will. If we deem him responsible, we shall appoint him our leader, but we are not blind followers either, we should always be educated and skeptical followers.

We are all fish in a great ocean. There is plenty to eat and many places to live in the great ocean. But there is a fisherman dangling free stuff from his hook. And he has cast a net with a sign that says "FREE BUFFET" and soon the sea will be void of all fish who have no integrity and will to seek out their sustenance within their own grand sea...then the sea will become stagnate because the fisherman will have taken all the potential worker fish and left the productive fish with no life sustaining ability to thrive. MMB

I do see your point but still have a hard time calling him a leader even though he has deceived many to follow. But can it be not so much HIM but what he offers? SRK

There is a striking difference between controlling followers and leading people. Controlling the masses has nothing to do with leadership...leaders inspire people to learn more, to do more, and become more. It takes a mastery of a certain kind of evil to take the masses and have them follow out of stupidity, fear, or the fact that they are being paid in some sort of way...this is not leadership by any sort of imagination.

Obama is not a leader of any kind. He is simply the guy in power. Any action he gets from people is not the result of effective leadership it is the result of the power that he has managed to get by devious measures. Do not confuse power with leadership!  JTD

But can't a leader also inspire negative acts, like the leader of a gang leads the thugs to commit crimes? MMB

Well stated and the only thing I can add is that he has all the makings of a DICTATOR! SRK

Well I guess you two have a point. I was thinking along the lines of a bad leader being an evil leader and not a leader who cannot lead. MMB

I guess you can call anyone who is in front of a mob or a gang the leader if you go by the strict definition but what I am getting at is the organized structure of society relative to government, the military, or any organization designed for the general benefit of society. You can call the devil a leader technically but in the end all he is is the thug in charge. You are playing on words when you say that an evil entity that is in charge is a leader. There are those who think that Allah is the leader of all mankind but to me that doesn't make Allah the leader. Definitions can be anything you want them to be but when referenceing a president we all know by what criteria is necessary to make him a leader.

I have a female friend from China who I have been helping with English and it is very confusing when you consider how many words have more than one meaning. We don't realize how screwed up English is until you have to explain why so many of the same words have different meanings. JTD

Point taken. I guess it is about the context in which it is taken. My thinking is that there is someone in charge for one reason or another. Most leaders are usually chosen by their peers, some deceive their way into it, and some bully themselves into being in control. One way or another they find themselves with followers. Hitler was in charge of his regime which made him Germany's leader. He led people to commit some pretty horrific crimes against those he perceived to be inferior to Germany's standards for his Arian Society. That, IMO, was negative leadership. In your view I am understanding that to be anti-leadership.

As for Allah, being a Christian with a firm belief in God, I cannot even approach the idea of Allah being the supreme being. The Koran cannot be the truth. I guess that goes to prove just how much a religion can impact a society.

The Muslim extremist's interpretation of the Koran leads them to mayhem. They are compelled to kill anyone who does not believe. As for Christians, we believe God's word was to be spread by mostly peaceful means.

Getting back to the impact of religion on a society, I can see how the advance of secularism within our own society is harming the premise for which our republic was founded.MMB

SAVE THE SHIP

We know the problem and can see it for what it is. Now the task of getting others to see!

SAVE THE SHIP

"There is none so blind

As thee who will not see"

It takes more than just existing

To navigate rough seas

Our country is hitting waves

And before we realize it

We are hanging on for dear life

When big government has capsized it.

It takes a decent captain

To right a flailing boat

As it takes an informed people

To cast a righteous vote

APATHETIC IGNORANCE

.."Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives." James Madison

APATHETIC IGNORANCE

With knowledge we have power

A loaded weapon in our hands

If the bullets are that of common sense

We have most of what life demands

Unarmed we would be in ignorance

Unprotected in apathetic bliss

Fatal is indifference

Allowing tyranny to exist

Are Americans Oppressed?

Are Americans Oppressed?

It seems as though we have, in our America, evolved into nothing more than a well organized system of plunder and oppression. At all levels of government the monstrosity grows and grows and the bigger it gets the more they dip deeper into your pockets to feed the machinery of big government. The people feed it and finance it and there is no way you have any choice in the matter. The taxes, assessments, the surcharges, a fee here, a fee there has even made a simple phone bill look like a New York phone book. Everywhere you look in your daily lives you can't function without sacrificing a large portion of the fruits of your labor of which a large portion goes to people who do not nor ever have contributed. The government takes by force and there's nothing voluntary about it so it can even create even more "agencies" to "help" the people, but the reality is that with each agency they can oppress the people through control with much more efficiency. You are not free to resist! You must fall within the realm of control and there are plenty of agencies to exert that control. You may need a permit or special license for a fee to assemble to use your right of free speech. You may need a special waiver to display the American flag from your front porch and on and on it goes...a little oppression here...a little oppression there.

The laws and expectations of government require many things, but if you are the right lobbyist or have the right connection to whatever party is in power then comes special waivers and exemptions. If you donate enough or happen to know someone or even if you are a government official you may be exempt from the same laws that all other citizens are expected to follow. This happens when whole societies are oppressed to the point of complete and total tyranny. Some laws are meant to oppress and control...some are necessary but have little meaning without equal application of the law. ...and now for todays quote...

"Without LIBERTY, law loses its nature and its name, and becomes oppression. Without LAW , liberty also loses its nature and its name and becomes licentious." James Q Wilson

(Licentious)=corrupt

James Dixon

Giving In

"Without LIBERTY, law loses its nature and its name, and becomes oppression. Without LAW , liberty also loses its nature and its name and becomes licentious." James Q Wilson

(Licentious)=corrupt

GIVING IN

An evil necessity is regulation

Unfair to the point of mere oppression

Under unscrupulous leaders meant to control us

Strictly mandated and with force they enroll us

Liberty is lost with abundance of law

Will we ever reach the final straw?

Government control is propagated

When our every move is regulated

When did We the People become the slave?

Why do we need care from cradle to grave?

How was our pride so compromised?

Were we so desperate to accept the lies?

Anticipating Negativity

"Nothing is so wretched or foolish as to anticipate misfortunes. What madness it is to be expecting evil before it comes." Lucios Seneca

ANTICIPATING NEGATIVITY

Misfortunes come ably on their own

Sadly some dwell on the adversity they've known

Should we be locked in such self imposed chains

As angst for the future is so firmly ingrained?

It marks our past, present, and future

Challenge is just part of our life

It's up to ourselves which feeling we nurture

Hope and happiness or worrisome strife

INDOCTRINATION

"The conscience of children is formed by the influences that surround them; their notions of good and evil are the result of the moral atmosphere they breathe."

School is a major source of influence for American children. More families have two working parents and children enter day care and pre-school early more often than not. Add this to twelve years of school, two or more years of college or trade school and the family becomes a secondary source of a child's developement.

It is becoming obvious that our schools have changed drastically since the earlier times when discipline was in place and we learned what was actual history. Today our classes are managed by far left teachers indoctrinating our children with skewed liberal views. The history books are rewritten to follow the socialistic and progressive tendencies of today's politics. God and patriotism is frowned upon in public schools. We are allowing big government to influence our children's lives in what they call education.

We will lose our liberty if we continue to allow this indoctrination as growing government removes our children more and more from the influence of our own family values. They don't want our children to learn the Constitution or Bill of Rights. They want them growing up thinking government is the final authority and that government has their back.

This monstrosity of a government is stealing our children and turning our country into a "Stepford" community.

THE FINAL STRAW

Thomas Sowell hit the nail on the head when he said..."Education is not merely neglected in many of our schools today, but it is replaced to a great extent by ideological indoctrination."

Take my soup, take my bread

All I stand for, go ahead and denigrate

But stay the hell out of my child's head

Indoctrination I won't tolerate

These liberal schools with far left professors

Are claiming the fertile minds

I consider our children national treasures

Continue this oppression, I won't be kind

You fail to teach what serves them well

You are creating puppets for your agenda

It's being discovered as far as I can tell

We refuse to tolerate your propaganda
