We take what is necessary to get on with our lives
Bombarded by all they say and we hear
Driven sometimes to paranoia and fear
Let garbage go through and retain what is dear
Fill up with hi-octane as you shift into gear
Know the difference between what's false or what's real
Prepare yourself so you know how to feel
Understand your teammates before taking the field
Heed and absorb what your existence reveals
Save time for solitude for your peace of mind
Take advantage of the seclusion life can provide
But don't disappear once you take time to hide
Get back in the race, don't get too far behind
