"Nothing is so difficult as not deceiving oneself." Ludwig Wittgenstien (1889-1951) an Austrian British philosopher
I LIED TO MYSELF
I thought that I was able
To put food upon the table
With little effort on my part
With little fire, much less a spark
With being grown up my daily yearning
I cruised through school barely learning
All I had was youthful pride
Was it to myself I lied?
McDonalds was not enough
To raise a family, time was rough
How much more would I have achieved
If I hadn't found myself deceived?
When you are young there's so much time to burn
Reasons to play and not to learn
I have found through introspection
An easy life was my true deception
