"Son, brother, father, lover, friend. There is room in the heart for all affections as there is room in heaven for all the stars." Victor Hugo
BILLY D.
The son of a barber from Missouri he came
They called him Red but Bill was his name
He joined the Coast Guard to fight in the war
He was always proud of what the stars and stripes stood for
He stayed close to his brothers and sister through life
He drove them crazy, his two loving wives
The greatest father that ever could be
Was to be the greatest influence to me
I learned from him that friendship is sacred
He was not one to condone any hatred
Charity was something dear to his heart
He was willing to share all he had, not just a part
He'd feed a stranger if he need to be fed
And contribute to find a homeless man a bed
He worked very hard and life left him scars
But God saved him room among the clouds and the stars
He was as good a man as ever life had
I'm proud to say this man was my dad
When it came to love he was such a tycoon
I'm better for that love though he departed too soon
