Strength

"Strength is born in the deep silence of long suffering hearts; not amid joy." Arthur Helps English historian, novelist (1813-1875)

STRENGTH

Joy is a downhill run

Basking in a summer sun

A relaxing visit with with our closest friends

Exciting surprises around each bend

Joy is always the high road

Gliding in the sky mode

It is of little effort once you are there

No breaking a sweat, not one gray hair

Adversity is an uphill battle

Dusty hours in the saddle

It is in these times of turmoil we face

We gain the stamina to run the human race

Our minds are expanded with years of study

To be s scholar and not a flunky

Our bodies are shaped from our commanding

To push ourselves in life demanding

Pain

C.S. Lewis ...

."But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world."

PAIN

I can see the world smile with me in my pleasures

Briefly in passing until I walk by

They will atta-boy me as I count my treasures

Interested, not enough, to laugh or to cry

When I write from my soul what moves my conscience

Some may cheer briefly as I take my stand

But they're really too busy to be involved in my nonsense

But I still write what I feel when I can

If the same disinterested people can hear me

When I'm stabbed in the back and cry out in pain

Those same people who walked away now stand near me

And roar for justice like s runaway train

Nothing brings outrage like injured souls

Pain is a huge megaphone

Sympathy's the emotion where interest is grown

Betrayal is visitor who everyone's known

Chasing Dreams

"The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome. to endure. to transform, to love and be greater than our suffering." Ben Okri

CHASING DREAMS

The darkest skies retreat at the sight

Of a powerful star at the end of each night

Awakened are we to a day brand new

Recharged by the night we bid adieu

If our hearts are open we'll love more today

We'll accomplish a list we held at bay

We will see old things in new perspective

Grab our dreams and hold them captive

Then in the perfect time and and place

When we are comfortable in the journey we face

We'll set our dreams in motion and give them a try

Storing in our memories the days gone by

Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no separation." Jail ad Din Rumi...(1207-1273)

WE WHO REALLY KNOW YOU

For those who did not know you, my dear

You are not gone, you were never here

For those acquaintances who may have passed your way

They may join the prayer list for just a day

For those who loved you with their eyes

Who saw the hero in disguise

They will always have their stories to tell

Things about you they knew so well

Then there are the ones who quite like me

Look beyond the person you tried to be

We know your heart, can count the beats

We felt your triumph and shared you defeats

We understand your cunning mind

Where serious moments and you humor combined

We sensed your strength when others saw fear

We'll know the loneliness now you're not here

Yes, those who knew you with their eyes

Have missed the character you held inside

They will say goodbye now that you're gone

But there are some of us who will say so long

No physical separation that your passing has forced

Can cut the ties our hearts gave forged

We who knew you with our hearts and souls

Will feel you with every wind that blows

Under the Leader's Thumb

UNDER THE LEADER'S THUMB

That paper has been trampled upon

Torn apart and its essence undone

It has been amended for rights

Sometimes wrong

Has it become so atrophied

It is no longer strong?

From under what rock did such leaders appear

To shread the constitution we held so dear?

Do we want rights or do we want wrongs?

Why aren't we against the tyrants who don't belong?

Free speech, our guns, our liberty

There will be nothing left of our dignity

Under the leader's thumb beware

Of agendas uncouth just lurking there

Will we man up and stand our ground?

Or shrink beneath their boots and be thoroughly drowned?

Will we look back one day and say we stood, man?

Or regretfully rue we certainly should have?

Social Engineering

"Whenever justice is uncertain and police spying and terror are at work, human beings fall into isolation, which of course, is the aim and purpose of the dictator state, since it is based on the greatest possible accumulation of depotentiated social units." Carl Jung (1875-1961)

SOCIAL ENGINEERING

It is time to bring on the fear

Isolate us from what one thing we held dear

Did we once know a day in time

We could share our opinions, what's on our minds?

"Stifle the bastards!" Our government said

"Break their spirit, get into their heads!"

"Once we have indoctrinated their young

Our plans for social justice will have won!"

And what above they said is the tools they use

A dependant citizenry who have no clue

All they ask is for what little they need

As their life wanes slowly from the dignity they bleed

The patriots who recognized the schemes

Are being pushed into the background, so it seems

A mere squeak from once loud voices

Silenced by our own questionable choices

Give the politicians unlimited terms

When will the folly of that ultimately be learned?

Give them the keys, hell! give them the car

Until the dependant class wakes up, it is here we are

Just the Facts

"Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind." George Orwell

JUST THE FACTS

Upon the podium he stands

To convince us we've been wronged

Pounding his fists as he demands

We now must all stand strong

The murders we are about to commit

In yet another war

Is the truth of it pure politics?

Are we about to even a score?

At the very least we must seek the truth

That would satisfy the blood-lust

Is that politician, smug and smooth

About to betray our trust?

Give me just the facts, man

Before sending our children to war

Let there be a reason to understand

Just who we are fighting for

Picking Our Battle

"Rebellion without the truth is like spring in a bleak, arid desert." (Khalil Gibran)

PICKING OUR BATTLE

As we gather our arms for defense

As we rise as determined and defiant

Are we certain of the offense?

Is it truth that we rely on?

Are we righteous in our battles?

Do we understand the logic?

Should we not separate the truth from lies

Before mistakes will end up tragic?

The Beast Has Risen

Frederick Douglas once said..."The thing worse than rebellion is the thing that causes rebellion."

THE BEAST HAS RISEN

It seems a beast has risen

Unfortunately allowed to grow

Now we are threatening rebellion

What caused this, do we know?

Our watchdog groomed to protect us

Has turned on us in aggression

Our government doesn't  respect us

Have we failed in past learned lessons?

Can we take the government beast

That grows beyond our control?

Will we rebel or let him feast

On the bones of our once free souls?

Organizing

ORGANIZING

What my eyes have yet to see

And only what my ears have heard

There is a place I will someday be

That only my faith assures me

In the meantime I will continue to pray

Giving thanks for all the best God hath bestowed

And I will ask only for guidance today

As I see myself becoming alone and old

He had given me the greatest gift

The mortal life with those I have loved

And I  find myself convinced

Of  the rewards that await me beyond and above

So as I attempt to organize

The era of my twilight years

It has been throughout my lifetime I have realized

It's an easier journey in faith, nor  fear

Dancing With the Liars

"A liar begins with making falsehood appear like the truth, and ends up with making the truth itself appear like a falsehood." and this is what William Shenstance said about leaders and liars.

DANCING WITH THE LIARS

Dancing with liars, spinning around the truth

Twisting into what seems to them so right

Wall flowers watch the dancers as they play their limbo games

Rolling their eyes at all the bullshit brought to light

What seems to be such a party on the dance floor

Is the magic that turns the falsehood into truth

The antics on the field that ups the score

Make we, the spectators, wondering "what's the use?"

Then the DJ chimes in with his flowery rhetoric

To try to spin what's true into the lie

He must think we are mostly near illiterate

Thinking their manipulation might just up and fly

Do we appear that we don't have a clue?

Do they think we will take it on the chin?

Are we people who will sit around feeling blue?

Just accepting as fact  what's untrue?

Another witness takes the stand after they swear

Then they think they have us all convinced

Deep down we know what happens there

As they flash an evil smile and plead the fifth.

The Game Plan

"We are bombarded on all sides by a vast number of messages we don't want or need. More information is generated in a single day than we can possibly absorb in a lifetime. To fully enjoy life, all of us must find our own healing space and peace of mind.." James E. Faust

THE GAME PLAN

As information flies into your eyes

See and read what you must to realize

A balance of knowledge between the truth and the lies

We take what is necessary to get on with our lives

Bombarded by all they say and we hear

Driven sometimes to paranoia and fear

Let garbage go through and retain what is dear

Fill up with hi-octane as you shift into gear

Know the difference between what's false or what's real

Prepare yourself so you know how to feel

Understand your teammates before taking the field

Heed and absorb what your existence reveals

Save time for solitude for your peace of mind

Take advantage of the seclusion life can provide

But don't disappear once you take time to hide

Get back in the race, don't get too far behind

Billy D.

"Son, brother, father, lover, friend. There is room in the heart for all affections as there is room in heaven for all the stars." Victor Hugo

BILLY D.

The son of a barber from Missouri he came

They called him Red but Bill was his name

He joined the Coast Guard to fight in the war

He was always proud of what the stars and stripes stood for

He stayed close to his brothers and sister through life

He drove them crazy, his two loving wives

The greatest father that ever could be

Was to be the greatest influence to me

I learned from him that friendship is sacred

He was not one to condone any hatred

Charity was something dear to his heart

He was willing to share all he had, not just a part

He'd feed a stranger if he need to be fed

And contribute to find a homeless man a bed

He worked very hard and life left him scars

But God saved him room among the clouds and the stars

He was as good a man as ever life had

I'm proud to say this man was my dad

When it came to love he was such a tycoon

I'm better for that love though he departed too soon

Faith

FAITH

As I was born to be

Proverbally blind

Until there was a reason

To take charge of my mind

We all have to wonder

Which way to go

We are new to this world

Why should we know?

There must be a voice

Even in infancy we understand

"It's time for a choice

Come take my hand."

And with unspoken faith

We take our first step

Let God set our pace

Our appointments are kept

But as individuals

We make our mistakes

Because we are mortals

Who can't walk on lakes

We have our own will

And man, it is strong

Our lifetime is filled

With some rights and some wrongs

There in the shadows

In front of the light

Is the path to the meadows

And future delights

There will be a day

That I will find a deep need

To find the way

With God in the lead

He allowed me my journey

Based on my faith

Now I will go into eternity

With my God given peace

FREE SPEECH

The first amendment says nothing about the right not to be offended. The risk of finding someone elses speech offensive is the price each of us pays for our own free speech. Free people don't run to the court...or the principal...when they encounter a message they don't like. They answer it with one of their own." Jeff Jacoby

FREE SPEECH

Forget what I say?

Do or don't

Respect what I say

You probably won't

Will I regret what I said

Not a chance

I am proud to be free

And embrace my stance

Agree with you always

NOT!

Your rantings yesterday

I probably forgot

But did I listen in the first place?

Most likely I did

I do respect your right

To say what you said

Obama's "Achievements"

"Four years ago, I promised to end the war in Iraq. WE DID. I promised to refocus on the "Four years ago, I promised to end the war in Iraq. WE DID. I promised to refocus on the terrorist who actually attacked us on 9/11. WE HAVE. We blunted the Taliban's momentum in Afghanistan and in 2014, OUR LONGEST WAR WILL BE OVER. A new tower rises above the New York skyline, AL QAEDA IS ON THE PATH OF DEFEAT, AND OSAMA bin Laden is dead.". Obama

He ended the war in Iraq? Now Iraq is in the hands of Al Qaida, they have an entire country complete with weapons, an army, oil, and most likely access to weapons of mass destruction through Iran.

He focused on the 9/11 terrorists? He just UNLAWFULLY traded five of the worst for a deserter.

Afghanistan?  He announced the reduction in troops by date against the advice of his generals. That put the terrorists at bay, until such time they will rise to take that country also.

Osama Bin Laden is dead...is he?  If he is, it doesn't matter a wit, there are now five more to take his place.

My Hate

"Terrorism is a tactic. They point guns and threaten bombs and demand things that are totally impossible. They hide behind some spirit they have created from their imagination, but in the end all they want to do is kill anyone who doesn't agree with their twisted ideology. You don't make nice with these fuckin' people, you don't play lets make a deal, and there is no way in hell you will ever see anything that looks like fair play from these bastards. I have personally seen what they can do and the only solution to their form of terror is to kill the bastards as they come regardless of age or gender."

MY HATE

They point their guns and plant their bombs

And brag about it when they are done

Killing is second nature

They get off on all the danger

They stole the planes from common flights

And pointed them at targeted sights

Too many innocent died

And so many survivors cried

In the name of Allah and promised rewards

Celebrating the deaths they scored

Terror is their game

Al Qaida is their name

In all the prayers I've said

They are the only people I wish dead

Though it may seem hateful

I hope their deaths as painful

Even the best of us cannot disguise

Our yearning for a terrorist's demise

May they suffer for hours on the floor

As we cheer in delight outside their door.

The Box

THE BOX

Born into a box of poverty and seclusion

So used to their status, they bear no delusions

Life is but a waiting game, each day is just the same

They have grown up in a culture where work is a pain

Never missing prosperity, they never had a taste

Not an ounce of integrity, such a human waste

Waiting for a monthly stipend not trying to pretend

It is the legacy handed down to them

Born into a box, four sides, a bottom and top

Not really worrying about things they never got

Children in a welfare state, just living to get by

Just switching to a cheap pine box once they whither away and die

The Great Siphon

Neil Smith was a writer who looked into the future of America back in 1980 and wrote the PROBABILITY BROACH...and here is a quote from that writing...

"Nine tenths of everything is tax. Everything you buy has a complicated history of robbery: land, raw materials, energy, tools, building, transport, storage, sales, profits. Don't forget the share you contribute toward the personal income tax of every worker who has anything to do with the process. Inflation by taxation: there are a hundred taxes on a loaf of bread. What kind of living standard would we enjoy if everything costs a tenth of what it does? What kind of world? Think of your home, your car, your tv, your shoes, your supper...all 90% discount! GOVERNMENT CAN'T FIGHT POVERTY...POVERTY IS IT'S FINEST ACHIEVEMENT!"

"The government has created a great siphon. It has been more than adequate at siphoning every penny we earn from taxes and inflation. It has been extraordinarily sufficient at siphoning the dignity of more than half the population who have become a mass of hands reaching for every crumb the government throws them in exchange for their votes. And the saddest of all, with each law and regulation they siphon the liberty this country was most proud of."

Living Small Commentary

"If we won't choose to pay the price of liberty, then by default we shall suffer the cost of servitude...whether it be in the chains of a tyrannical oligarchy or the regulatory chains of unelected faceless bureaucrats. When we witness our neighbors abused by tyrants, will we skulk away and hope we are not next?...Or will we stand by them and challenge as freedom loving Americans...the tyranny of LAWLESS LEADERS!?" Phil Trieb

"As it is today with the mass apathy affecting our country, we are symbolically walking voluntarily into jail cells and handing over the keys to tyranically influenced politicians who have gained control knowing people want free stuff and will tolerate living small, stifled, and in servitude to their benefactors, ie: The Federal Government. In return for their life of poverty they reward said politicians with votes." M.M. Beatty

The Feds

"Productive private citizens in outlying regions of our nation and states are financially burdened to pay for a parasite public economy of lawmakers, lobbyist, contractors, and bureaucrats in the political centers." Richard K. Vedder (economics professor Ohio State University 1996)

"The cost of doing business in our government is beyond unreasonable. They pay far more for everything they buy, sometimes a hundred times more than a normal citizen would pay. We are trusting our budget to politicians who have no concept of budgeting.

Take Hillary Clinton for instance. If what she says is true about the debt she and Bill were saddled with when they left the White House, are we supposed to welcome her to the Presidency, turn over our budget, when she cannot handle her personal finances? Everytime that woman opens her mouth her foot goes in deeper. She is about up to her hip by now.

The Federal government needs to be reined in while the states and the people gain control of the purse strings.

I am appalled at the ineptitude of government. I think the problem lies on both sides of the aisle, generally with the progressive movement.

We the People need to get tough and stand fast against the power of unions, lobbyists, and impenetrable bureaucracy.

Term limits need to be high on the list of reform. Accountability following closely behind." M.M. Beatty

It's Your Race

"The purpose of education is to make the choices clear to the people NOT to make the choices for the people." Peter McWilliams (1949-2000) Poet, author

IT'S YOUR RACE

I paint this canvas in hopes you will see

The years of living inside of me

I write this story that you may read

And glean such knowledge you may need

I write this song with lyrics that tell

How understanding life has done me well

And I hope that everything I've done

Will help you chose which race to run

Being the individual you were meant to be

Living, loving, running free

KNOWLEDGE

Alexander Trenfor once said "the best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see."

KNOWLEDGE

Look, he said

As he pointed ahead

In the distance you will find

Whatever you need to stimulate your mind

But, even though I may guide you

Hold your hand and remind you

Knowledge is yours to devour

Feast upon each waking hour

And I trust with this advice I share

You are ever enriched from your journey there

Do We Know Who?

"The state...has had a vested interest in promoting attitudes that would tend to make us skeptical of our own abilities, fearful of the motives of others, and emotionally dependent upon external authorities for purpose and direction in our lives." Butler D. Schaffer source Calculated Chaos 1985

DO WE KNOW WHO?

Who wants us to be compliant

And be minimally self reliant?

Who vows for our protection

While practicing deception?

Who has been holding the Constitution in contempt

While creating debt with all they've spent?

I offer you this clue...

He promised hope and change for you

Who plays upon our fear

And holds our taxes dear?

Who apologizes to our enemies

And regulates our liberties?

Whose lies support deception?

Who hides from public detection?

While galaventing with rockers and stars

The unemployed's children starve

I wouldn't think you would need to guess

Who keeps this country in a mess

Who causes all this drama?

Quotes about lawmaking

In questions of law or of fact conscience is very often confounded with opinion. No man's conscience can tell him the rights of another man; they must be known by rational investigation and historical inquiry." Doctor Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)

"In this melting pot known as The United States of America, the vast array of morals, religion, opinions, culture, and general politics make lawmaking and enforcement a thin line between just and unjust.

It is my opinion the utmost care should be taken to choose fair and open minded people to represent us. Those who are able to set aside their own beliefs for the benefit of all. They should be those who understand the intent of The Constitution and adhere to that basic intent." M.M. Beatty

My Stand

"We have a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws even though we have the same moral and legal obligation to obey just laws that are necessary to daily good order. Certain minor laws can be tolerated and certain unjust laws need to be broken because freedom can only exist when tyrants and their laws are defied. I refuse to obey any law that is not supported by our constitution!" J.T. Dixon

MY STAND

Our protection is a must I'd say

When appropriate laws are just these days

Our liberty relies on trust in our elected

And is based on the moral codes we selected

While my intent is to be law abiding

And knowing some will not be to my liking

I will stand true to just laws proposed for continued liberty

And gallantly defy the unjust ones imposed against me

Resistance

Plato..."Justice in the life and conduct of the state is possible only as first it resides in the hearts and souls of the citizens."

RESISTANCE

There came a moment in time and history

Our ancestors followed their hearts

They stepped away from tyranny

To make a brand new start

They put the government in a place

That would prove to serve them well

But as years went by they had to face

That lying progressives had cast a spell

They relied upon the apathy

That had over-come our nation

To build a liberal dynasty

That would boil a patriot's frustration

With every possibility

They used a media now biased

Now in every probability

Our liberties they will deny us

With a country now teeming with selfish souls

And an abundance of under-unachievers

We are limited in our lofty goals

Of a country once made of believers

With God now excluded by the heathens

Who tout a secular society

And with leaders prone to treason

We implode with negative notoriety

God help us now the patriots pray

For the strength of freedom's survival

With our heats and souls we resist the ways

Of a socialist revival

My Morals

"Whenever 'A' attempts by law to impose his moral standards upon 'B', 'A' is most likely a scoundrel." H.L. Menchen (1880-1956) American journalist

MY MORALS

I respect your right to believe

I applaud your passion to believe it

I am happy with the peace you receive

And of the source in which you receive it

But don't dare rain on my parade

When it comes to my choice of faith

For I am not afraid

With the choices that I have embraced

We all are people with free will

Influenced by the God we choose

My morals are mine as yours are still

You mess with mine, you lose!

It's Going Down

"Men in authority will always think of criticism of their policies is dangerous. They will always equate their policies with patriotism, and find criticism subversive." Henry Commanger (1902-1998) Historian/author...from his book FREEDOM AND ORDER.

IT'S GOING DOWN

A word to you peons one and all

The king hereby shall not be criticized

He will have your subversive heads, they will roll

The torture will be uncivilized!

Although my warnings may seem extreme

In the days of voting at the polls

The loss of liberty and freedom's dreams

Downward with our economy rolls

When politicians control the news

And department heads become lawless puppets

When the only answer is within their views

A strong America begins to plummet

When Christianity is a dirty word

When God is banned and swept aside

When the liberal ways have become absurd

Then what is left of the patriots are their defeated pride

The Lobby

"Washington, of course, aside from being the most mismanaged, crime ridden, cities on the planet, is a place where 535 federal legislators and about 38,000 lobbyist work at confiscating and redistributing the incomes of the American people." Charlie Reese

"We are the hard working people who fund our country's bankroll, yet we seem to no longer have any say as to how these funds are spent. 38,000 special interest lobbyist hold the combination to our safe and continue to rob us blind.

How much longer are we going to tolerate that our elected representatives will thumb their noses at the will of We the People to line their pockets with the bribes from these lobbyists?

Before this country can be righted, the intrusion of big money has got to stop influencing our legislators. Then, and only then, can we embark on a thorough cleaning of the rotting stench of government corruption. And in this process, cut the government down to size so again We the People will be in charge of our destiny." Marian. Beatty

Our Loss

"The great appear great because we are on our knees: LET US RISE!" and that comes from James Larkin (1876-1947)

OUR LOSS

Let them be the driver

Be but don't be seen

An invisible survivor

Not a player on the team

Let them choose your destination

Don't you dare have your say

Quell any aspirations

Don't you care to have your way?

Give up your right to prosperity

Let the government be the king

Bow to secularity

Don't let your freedom ring

Are we just the mice

Addicted to their cheese

Would it not be nice

To get up off your knees?

Our loss has been the greatness

They led us to perceive

Progressivism is the illness

Our apathy, the disease

I LIED TO MYSELF

"Nothing is so difficult as not deceiving oneself." Ludwig Wittgenstien (1889-1951) an Austrian British philosopher

I LIED TO MYSELF

I thought that I was able

To put food upon the table

With little effort on my part

With little fire, much less a spark

With being grown up my daily yearning

I cruised through school barely learning

All I had was youthful pride

Was it to myself I lied?

McDonalds was not enough

To raise a family, time was rough

How much more would I have achieved

If I hadn't found myself deceived?

When you are young there's so much time to burn

Reasons to play and not to learn

I have found through introspection

An easy life was my true deception

My Imprint

"We judge ourselves by what we feel we are capable of doing, while others judge us by what we have done." H.W. Longfellow (1807-1882) American Poet

MY IMPRINT

Is it I who see myself so high and mighty

I fail to attain my true potential

I believe I am already with the elite

But I remain inconsequential

Is it I who consider myself so lowly

I have resigned myself to that?

In my mind I feel "why try?"

And I have lived life in a shack

How many of us stay in mediocrity

And look askew at those above and below us

Why do others see our potential?

Why is it easier for others to know us?

In the end will I look back to see

That I failed or over-achieved?

Will I be just another also ran

Because it was I who would not believe?

Rules to Live By

Einstein’s Three Rules of Work:

1) Out of clutter find simplicity. 2) From discord make harmony 3) In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity

RULES TO LIVE BY

In me lies a cluttered mind

From all the knowledge I have gleaned

In chaotic moments there comes a time

My memory be reviewed and cleaned

Within the clutter I find simplicity

As I purge the useless burdens beared

I can let go of each little eccentricity

That let me dwell so wary and scared

In the now brave and simple me

I  face the discord of sharing life

With too many people who could hardly see

They had added to my personal strife

All in all I have grown to know

The difficulty that brings me down

From the things that I have known,  I grow

It's much easier to laugh than wear a frown
