Give me adversity to know my courage
So I can be capable of standing my ground
I will be stronger for having the knowledge
The resolve in me that I've found
Allow me the pain circumstances bring
So my joy is much more intense
Allow me to balance the sad songs I sing
And let a choir angels commence
Show me times when I must struggle to survive
So my faith has the power to know
That I have it in me to somehow devise
A plan that will allow me to grow
