DEMOCRACY

No, Democracy is not perfect

Needy people can be swayed

Workers can be burdened

While the lazy are overpaid

Transformations are promised

When times seem a bit too hard

Leaders with agendas

Stack the deck with cheating cards

Freedom can be trying

For the patriots who see

The elected ones are out to steal

Their precious liberty

Democracy can open doors

For the bad as well as good

Apathy is the enemy

And laws misunderstood

But in all the global governments

Though democracy has its flaws

It is still the best for anyone

Who will stand up for their cause
