Each year I write a heartfelt poem
From the safety of my home sweet home
About the tragedy of nine one one
That changed the old and scarred our young
Therr is nothing more inside me to say
Of the pain that gripped me on that day
About the sanctity of life forever foiled
When the terrorist bloodied our sacred soil
I will spend this day like everyone
Seeing the images again rerun
And add my prayers through heartfelt tears
For innocence lost forever through hate and fear
