It is said that the meek
Should inherit the earth
But it's not always true
For what it's worth

It is true that civility
Is much better recieved
And friendship before enemies
Is much better percieved

But comes a time
When the meek should not follow
When it means in the end
In the gutter they may wallow

There must always be bravery
In you set aside
If tyranny springs up
From wherever they hide

There are times when a hammer
Is needed to wield
When your liberty is threatened
You'll take up sword and shield

But it need not be blood
That is drawn in this fight
It just take the masses
To succeed when they're right

So gather up your countrymen
And count up your votes
March on the capitol
Armed with words in your notes

Tell them you stand
In this country of men
And this fight for your liberty
Is how you'll begin

Let peace lead the way
And your numbers be your sword
Let votes be your say
As the cause you work toward

Let freedom prevail
And progressives step down
With faith in your heart
In this courage you've found
