We Can Still Feel the Love

WE CAN STILL FEEL THE LOVE

Did it not feel good

When we were united

Flags flew like they should

People were excited

Fire engines led the parades

Down Main Street on holidays

Uniforms with golden braids

Adorned flag carrying vets, bands played

Patriotic songs, hands saluted or covered the heart

Nothing could tear our citizens apart

Tragedies brought tears

Terrorism drove our fears

But after the most devastating act of all

As America watched the towers fall

We were compelled to grasp for hope

And in the love for one another this country learned to cope

Too many were lost

Too steep was the cost

When hijacked planes swooped down from above

But it also proved we can still feel the love

That Boy

THAT BOY

I knew that little boy

Such a little imp

It is such a sad story

How he got that limp

He legs carried him to medals

He wore around his neck

The footballs he caught

Earned him the fan's respect

He had a heart for his country

Was from a long line of vets

He sits at the window in his wheelchair

How soon people forget

Remember

"Of what use is a memory of facts, if not to serve as an example of good and evil."

Alfred de Vigny French Poet 1797-1863

REMEMBER

We can't erase the images that caused such pain

But if we could, what would be gained?

The difference between pleasure and angst

Would be forever lost in the dust of the past

Just how can we learn to feel?

What would drive our need to heal?

If devastation was so easily swept away

With the receding waters into the bay

He Plays the Game

"Being brilliant is no great feat if you respect nothing."

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

German writer 1749-1773

HE PLAYS THE GAME

Brilliant? They say

And he overcame

A bastard and not of one race or the other

Absent father, was raised by his mother

Respect? Is it deserved?

Using his minority status, self served!

Just mediocre at best with his knowledge

But considered uprising as a young man post-college

A whore to a billionaire with political aspirations

A puppet to an agenda to control legislation

Respect for others is absolutely missing

Can he respect himself amid the asses he's kissing?

Power

"What feeds the ocean that builds a wave so powerful as to erode the shore and take it in pieces back into its depths? What feeds a government that does the same to its people?"

Marian Beatty

Power Quotes

The quote is from MIKE PENCE, American Politician born 1959.

"Our Founders insisted that protecting the state’s power to govern themselves was vital to limit the power of Washington and preserve freedom."

"Unfortunately, the states have been looking to the Feds to get them over too many humps. More unfortunately, this practice has fed the Feds more power." Marian Beatty

"POWER translates into authority and when the people of a Republic grant authority (power) to a representative they expect that person do just that...REPRESENT!" Jim Dixon

"Good intentions can run amuck when power becomes mixed with money and the possibility of gaining even more power." Jim Dixon

"Power is like that first potato chip where one taste leads us to eating the whole bag. Soon we are over weight and suffering from all kinds of physical ailments as a result of our gluttony." Jim Dixon

Our Former Strength, Gone

The quote is from MIKE PENCE, American Politician born 1959.

"Power is an instrument of fatal consequence. It is confined no more readily than quicksilver, and escapes good intentions as easily as air flows through mesh."

OUR FORMER STRENGTH, GONE

Powerful as we had been in the eyes of the world

Respect rose in unison as the stars and stripes unfurled

Those who tried to oppose us became the ones defeated

Bold attacks like Pearl Harbor will never be repeated

Strong as we had been with leaders who would not back down

Admirals and generals with courage in the war room all around

Fear rose up in the enemy when our boots were on the ground

Has it come to but a whisper, our most intimidating sound?

As we hail a yellow leader who breaks bread with all the stars

Plays a round of golf or two, barely breaking par

He won't put the blame on terrorist for who knows whatever reason

Media will protect him for his wanton acts of treason

Weak now that we are in the eyes of the world

Stars and stripes are burned the moment they're unfurled

Christianity becomes a target and Jihad a fact of life

Our leaders protect the very ones who cause the world strife

Executive priority is to cover up the blunders that prevail

Lies escape their spokesmen each time that they exhale

Weak is our economy, in size our government grows

How much more can we be regulated? Anybody knows

Half of our population survive on public doles

Taxation and unemployment have put the middle class in holes

Obamacare has our heath care as critical at best

The war on Christianity leaves fewer of us blessed

Indoctrination permeates our youth in all our schools

But what the heck the liberal set think our president is cool

The rise of terror grows and the president denies it

Let's hand him one big kite and encourage him to fly it
