Why?

WILLIAM HAZLITT, the English Critic.

"The love of liberty is the love of others; the love of power is the love of ourselves."

"The life of liberty is such a Cumbaya event, I find it hard to understand why only half of us are patriots who will throw down over our right to retain it." Marian Beatty

"Those who love liberty want freedom for all (generally) and so it shows that you are not only thinking of just yourself but other people." Sharon Krogman

"Perhaps the fact that we who love liberty want it for all is our Achilles heal...we resort to our power to "impose" it on the world." Marian Beatty

"Our Achilles heel is complacency. Freedom is comfortable and in our comfort our willingness to appreciate it and fight for it is limited to only those who care enough to sacrifice what is necessary to keep it. All the sacrifices these days are on the shoulders of our military. There are a few select patriots but not enough to offset those who prefer government dependency.". James Dixon

WHY?

We sing the moving songs around the campfire

We wave the flag proudly every Forth of July

We bless the bounty before us on Thanksgiving

But we don't all resist the  evil, I wonder why?

Why do some bemoan the success of all the others?

How can some resort to taking at every curve?

The fact that takers rue the self sustaining hand that feeds them

Continues to sicken me and hit my tender nerve

The ones who let the power own them for the right to bread and water

And make the choice to leave their liberty behind them

Will drag the patriots down the road to social justice

And sentence us all to the proverbial chains that bind them

Acceptance of Deception

"Deception that goes without consequence becomes a way of life if it is there we submit to linger."

Marian Beatty

"I don't know if deception is an art or not...there isn't anything artful about deceiving which is in fact an action that involves lying and fraud, a pure form of trickery and treachery. I guess it becomes an art if you benefit or make personal gain as a result of a creative way to hide or destroy the truth."

"We hear something long enough and it becomes a truth in our own minds and thus in the end we all know so much which is just not so. Just think...all these years I believed that I could go blind by masterbating!"

James Dixon

"Sometimes it’s necessary to be critical and even to come off as negative is ok. Deception is no laughing matter and there’s no way to spin it to make it look good!"

Sharon Krogman

Life & Lies

Life is the art of being well deceived; and in order that the deception may succeed it must be habitual and uninterrupted.

William Hazlitt English Critic 1778-1830

LIFE & LIES

Since our life's inception

We've submitted to deception

With little or no reflection

We accept our daily injection

Led through our mindless days

Lies told are facts that stay

It becomes our habitual way

In deception we are thrown to play

They lie to explain the evil

To cover the upheaval

If life is ever real

It's just for moments we can steal

They lie to always convince you

And vow to recompense you

Will truth ever come to the rescue?

And dishonesty discontinue?

With the media as co-conspirators

And half the country paid inferiors

Like a deadly boa constrictor

They tend to squeeze each bold inquisitor

What confuses me the most

Is we accept our daily dose

From politicians we won't expose

They continue with their control

Government Deception

HERACLITUS, the Greek Philosopher.

"Justice will take over fabrication of lies and false witnesses."

GOVERNMENT DECEPTION

The government sees We the People expendable

And amid their lies they are less than dependable

Seems to me they would become confused

With all the lies they tend to use

They are living in a house of cards

And should we blow it will come down hard

Just how much will it take until we're convinced

And get locked into our common sense?

Government deception is the root of evil

We live condemned in economic upheaval

They stretch the truth until it's abused

And it is we who pay for the lies they used

Will justice come and finally prevail

For those we elected and our trust they failed?

Will the lies boil over and eventually spill

To expose the traitors on Capitol Hill

Complacency

I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.

Abe Lincoln

COMPLACENCY

How did you like your koolaide today?

Is it something you use to delay your decisions?

If you refuse to drink it will it force you to learn?

Are you caught up in life's inhibitions?

Do you truly enjoy being led by your hand

Connected to politicians who say they know best?

Stuck in a vacuum of minimal knowledge

Just going along with the rest

Is it easier to stay plugged in to yesterday's facts

As you fail to expand your own mind?

You are so cozy in familiarity, it is how you adapt

It's much easier to be the following kind

So, go drink your koolaide and bury your head

Let those with ambition take control

Don't even bother getting out of your bed

Just sit in the audience rather taking a role

CONTROL

Yesterday is but today’s memory, and tomorrow is today’s dream.

Khalil Gibran

CONTROL

Skipping around the past in childlike glee

Or viewing it all as torturous memories

Whatever you see in mind's time machine

Should never alter whatever future you dream

Today's decisions when all is said and done

Are tidbits of yesterday that has only just begun

It is really just a continuum of a lifetime of things

And you are the puppeteer controlling the strings
