The Cottage

The Cottage

It was only for a short time

I had the privilege to stay

In a quaint little caretaker's cottage

Down the lane a little ways

It sat in the shadow of a grand old home

Luxurious in her day

A carriage house held cars now

I wanted very much to stay

I escaped to times of old

Looking over the river Thames

I spent everyday with a pony named Apache

Escaping to way back when

My life proceeded, as you guessed

But a piece of me was always owned

By a little cottage in Canada

Down a lane on Pond Mills Road

The Battle for Liberty

Ernest Hemmingway...

"The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places."

The Battle for Liberty

Who tells their children as they grow

Go forth and be lazy and weak?

What parent would tell them it's important you know

Just what welfare benefits to reap?

Success brings falls and cracks in your bones

Getting to a goal is never a walk in the park

It is not easy navigating moss covered stones

Across a river of adversary alone in the dark

The cheers should come for graduates and worker bees

Not for the corrupt and deviously cunning

It takes all you've got to conserve liberties

The number of uninformed is just stunning

If life has not contributed to your pain

Among the many joys your freedom brought

You long ago missed the freedom train

Is reaching for handouts the game you were taught?

River Time, Lake of Lost Hope

"Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong in its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away." Marcus Aurelius

River Time, Lake of  Lost Hope

Like a river life sometimes rushes by

Rapidly spilling all of your hopes and dreams over the falls

But beyond the thunderous falls lies a peaceful lake

It's mirrored blue water calls and calls

Within her bobs the hope of many men

Plans they thought were lost when the rushing river came

But few come looking for what they thought was gone forever

Dreams bumping the shore just waiting to be claimed

Hope and dreams are not easy to maintain

In life's fast paced world they are so easily swept away

To be taken by a the fierce rapids of the River Time

Unclaimed in the Lake of Lost Hope to likely fade away

INFLUENCE

Richard N. Gardner

"In short the house of world order will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down...An end run around NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old fashioned assault..."

Influence

The building blocks to New World Order can't be dangled from the sky

The powers-that-be know well not to try

Bottom up is the necessary step, you see

That involves the people, you and me

Indoctrination, influence, nanny state care

Corrupt the people while they are unaware

They target the naysayers and label them bigots

Let the koolaide run free from White House spigots

They will have the people toiling for their plot

Without a second thought, people will give what they've got

After all, they look forward to their life on welfare

And oh, don't forget the free healthcare!

But I shall not be a part if their Un-American goal

I will not accept that it's my liberty they stole

I will be one of many who remains ever strong willed

And will not be a carpenter in the new world order they build

Government's Hit Man

Government's Hit Man

Charged with the collection of our life's earnings

Willfully scraping even the sweat from our brow

The most powerful department of the country prevails

They take, scrutinize, bring fear and don't care how

Can it be this department has gone rogue

Using their power to target their own foes?

Or is it as I expect, they are the administration's weapon

A gun to our heads? Who knows?

The Patriot's Resolve

"The problem of power is how to achieve its responsible use rather than its irresponsible and indulgent use...of how to get men of power to live for the public rather than off the public." RFK

The Patriot's Resolve

We put them in power to act on our behalf

But some took that power as a throne

Laws were enacted for political gain

As government became overblown

It now is a kingdom for the man who broke his promises

And led so many to believe he cared

His reach has led beyond what is safe for our Republic

Those of us who see it are rightfully scared

The self indulgent politicians took the reins

And took their shadowy steed right to the brink

Now it is time for patriots to take their stand

Or look away as our country starts to sink

Our apathy let them in to defile our Constitution

It didn't just take a minute for this situation to evolve

But it's not said and done as long as We the People have our say

And as long as there remains a patriot's resolve

Oppression Depression

Oppression Depression

Tentacles reaching in from every direction

Invading your homes with the ruse of inspections

Filling their coffers with fines from your lacking

For their own enrichment more taxes they're stacking

Government growing in size to control us

Multiplying arms to quietly subdue us

More and more rights are lost as we sleep

Less and less earnings they allow us to keep

Why do we allow them to intrude so completely?

Are you going to continue to let them defeat thee?

When will you question your money they burned?

How much liberty is lost until your lessons are learned?
